A large number of students enjoy playing competitive sports on a Saturday.  These are usually through their local clubs.  However, students are exposed to a large range of  sporting and physical experiences.

During the week students participate in Junior House Sports (Years 1-4) on a Monday afternoon and Senior House Sports (Years 5-8) on a Thursday afternoon. Students are exposed to learning the skills of two different sports a term and playing a competitive game against another House.

Each term we have a school focused event which parents and whanau are encouraged to attend.

In Term 1 we have our Triathlon event on our school grounds. Term 3 we have our Cross Country Event at Argyll and Term 4 our Athletics day occurs.

We also participate in the annual Onga 7’s tournament, Waipawa Softball Tournament, Ripper Rugby and Beach Rugby tournaments, Big Bash Cricket.

Each term students have the opportunity to play volleyball or basketball.  These games are played in Hastings but team practises and coaching is done during school time.

When participating in these events we are reliant on parent volunteers to help with transport, management, supervision or coaching.
